As for the furnaces exhaust, most systems will need you to run an intake and exhaust out either through the roof or for some applications through the side of the house.

Unless you had high efficiency direct vent systems installed (not so common with boilers, but they exist), the extra burners will require more intake air for combustion.

Interest rates are so low right now it is hard to justify putting that money towards paying off or paying down these loans when we can be using the extra cash to buy more property or other investment that will perform better than the loans.That being said, I believe in taking a different approach for your own personal home- pay that off ASAP and don't borrow against it.

I have not had issues with property maintenance outside of what I would consider normal concerns for preserving the property.There is an event/idea called "Mortgagee In Possession" which can sometimes occur when a Mortgagee steps in taking possession of the real property while finishing foreclosure proceedings.
