Are you looking to live in one unit and rent the others? 

Perhaps same with San Antonio, but just because the overall market may not be favorable, doesn't mean you can't find a deal or the right deal in any of them.Where do you live now and why wouldn't you invest there? 

I have a 401k, IRA, and pension in place to help me achieve retirement quicker, however I definitely feel the squeeze on a daily basis and always feel like I'm living paycheck to paycheck.

I want to start investing in real estate in America in the near future, since I am not in America, I live in Europe, more precisely in Serbia, any advice and contact will mean a lot to me.

I believe that the technically correct answer is that they all moved from California to Texas and Florida, whereupon they realized that it gets extremely hot and humid in those places, has extremely variable weather, and large insects, and are now leaving Texas and Florida.
