@Matthew PaulBesides farm the land yourself you could lease it to a farmer, maybe even lease a roadside stand for fruits & veggies.Another option would be to put it in hay and harvest the hay to sell

Defer your gratification just a little to have a plentiful harvest, rather than picking the fruit while it is still green.

Loss Harvesting- This is a financial term to sell off investments with losses and redeploy the funds, plus take the tax impact against other income. 

You do your due dilligence before deciding to harvest and eat that mushroom.At last you take that mushroom home and cook it.

When it's harvest time, they take a week vacation from work and go up there to harvest.Hmm.....Maybe it's time to change career and study up on this. ;)
