I could technically afford something here but I would be locked in to the middle class rut of being chained to a job in order to pay the bills and I do not want that life. 

On the other hand I treat my renters like gold.

Having a leasing broker bring a long time quality tenant to the table can be like finding Gold.

I cant add a picture with my tablet but think of the above picture and instead of flanking the fireplace with gray cabinets, mine is flanked with a golden orange wall and the mantel is pale gold.  

It seems like Amazon is the new Cal gold rush, and there's still lots of opportunity. :) 

I recommend the podcasts, as they are pure gold.

As "overpriced" (market priced) as it may be, by buying and holding you're sitting on a gold mine of development potential.
