Pex was a savior for water lines but the cast iron waste stack & drains as well as the cast iron vents required walls to be entered to be replaced &/or hooked up with PVC,As each apartment vacated I would upgrade before the next tenant(s) moved in.

Hello, I have an old house (built in 1900s) and a weeks ago, there are 3+ leaking spots in my cast iron sewer pipes in the basement.

It's an amazing podcast but they have to also cast a wider net and try to appeal to a lot of different areas of RE investing.

I’d like to get solar and the Tesla battery setup but power is so cheap here I can’t justify it. electric is REALLY expensive in Hawaii.. and as such there are some great solar plays for Hawaiian residences  if Brandon Turner ever got introduced to those you would see him doing whole pod casts on those incredible programs for those living in Hawaii For me personally if I had to since TESLA is light years ahead of anyone else and my car is grandfathered into FREE supercharging for the life of the vehicle I could just use those as needed and never pay for energy..  

So ask that question before you book the inspection.Things to look for are 1) Sewer - is it an old cast iron?

Especially important are the old cast-iron pipes that were used up until the 1960s, they are all failing now and expensive to replace (~$10k).

The pod casts are also good to listen to here.

Never once going to a seminar, watching videos , or listening to POD casts.

Bigger Pockets flipping houses is a great book to start with and the POD CAST are great for even more self education.

I think I will cast a narrower net to properties closer to Austin.
