I have a tendency to be overly analytical and get stuck in "analysis paralysis" but my wife a woman of action so we make a good team.  

I'd also use an analytical tool like AirDNA to check out the listings in the area and get an idea of the immediate competition you would have on the platform as well as other invaluable insights (quality, pricing, occupancy rates, etc.) to help you decide.

I am not a REIT or a large syndicator just yet, so I do not dive as deep into market analytics.

I would check the Vrbo analytics to see what the average going prices are.

Skills are not always transferable and the reason I'm a good RE investor is that I've been doing it for ten years and I know enough about construction, being an ex-trade, plus having good analytical skills, which gives me a distinct advantage on underwriting.

By market analysis, do you mean analytics on the city where the property is located (population growth, job growth, occupancy, etc.)?
