I went through about 30 hours of podcasts (WARNING: Beware of the shiny object syndrome with podcasts) and 3 books that first week. 

At the height of the dot-com boom of the 1990s, the local newspaper said Silicon Valley was minting 5 new millionaires a day (I thought the number was much higher than that).The PBS station in San Francisco had the show This Week in Northern California and one of its segments talked about the land office business some psychiatrists were doing treating Sudden Wealth Syndrome.

Baltimore is one of the better cities to wholesale in because of the vast amount of vacant properties the huge amount of rentals.. which leads to a huge amount of burnt out landlord syndrome and or just the general economics of many neighborhoods leads to a ton of turn over and tons of wholesale opportunities.. 

My guess is the root cause this time around is a weird interlinked syndrome of ETF inflation and zombie corporations, both further inflated by covid emergency facilities, and the unfortunate reality is that the QE spigot is likely to remain open. 1990s Japan looks like America’s fate to me lately. 

🚨🚨🚨Sadly, perhaps greed and maybe the celebrity attraction syndrome hijacked many minds...

Otherwise you'll get shiny object syndrome.

The shiny object syndrome of real estate investing isn’t a end all be all.  

But it is barely even a shadow of its former self.As the NY Times, its biggest cheerleader, pointed out a couple days ago- it is starting to look like a city out of Blade Runner, an interesting article about the current dystopia like environment.Adrian Benepe, the former New York City Parks Commissioner and current head of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, sees “creeping Blade Runner syndrome” everywhere, from the clogged skies over Manhattan to the subways, which he rides to work every day from his home on the Upper West Side.

I seem to be suffering from shiny object syndrome.

It's easy to look back now and smile, but the decision was an extremely difficult one at the time.If you have Sunday syndrome, I know how you feel.
