The timeframe depends on the deal struck between both parties and the seller's goals. 

More on DSCR loans: DSCR loans are based off of down payment, credit score and either actual or market rents so it helps to supercharge an investor's real estate goals and net worth.

Once you've done that I'd start with determining the goals for the investment that you're trying to make.

My primary goal is to net zero with house hacking, renovate to appreciate, and refinance after a year, pulling built renovation/sweat equity.
