I was fortunate to work for a Fortune 100 company that put it's employees through a week long course by Crosby back in the mid 80's, and then actively implemented the concepts.

You are certainly right that the best way to learn this business is by taking action and implementing everything that you have learned.

I believe there is a place for these coaches and programs, but not in the beginner world.What beginners need are basic "how to" programs with some personal component such as a monthly call or email support, not high dollar programs that they cannot begin to comprehend or implement.
