I'm not saying the are bad people they are just often in over their heads trying to steer a significant chunk of other people's money around a major asset (the condo complex) with no prior history in a similar role.It can also be tough dealing with 6 or 8 conflicting personalities to get a decision made if you are accustomed to just dealing one-on-one with another property owner.

The boyfriend of the tenant was living with tenant when I purchased the property but was not on the lease - the prior landlord who I thought was good, vouched for him.

This is a type of deed that means the prior owner simply gives up their ownership rights, and is not guaranteeing clear title to the property.The investment group is likely the new owner, and would not be interested in selling it to a wholesaler.

The prior owner was addicted  to the shopping networks on TV, I guess that's where their money went instead of mortgage ( foreclosed) .

Probably yours - but I would cover my butt with a certified letter mailed to the prior owner and wholesaler both with a reasonable time limit.
