Doing a title search will show existing liens, as mentioned those need to be paid off in full by the settlement agent out of closing.

I found a good real estate agent that is really good at his job and he too is a real estate investor so I'm going to keep my head up and press on until my first deal comes through then i will feel good knowing i can do this!

They were recommended to me by my real estate agent and her husband.

However, I seldom got such information from my buyer's agent (i.e. if it can be found via mls)and I tried to ask my agent to get those documents from the seller's agent.
