They protect the criminals and are hard on home owners with taxing and fees and they have rent control inspectors come by that tell you that you need to do all sorts of upgrades for the tenants who destroy the property sometimes they are in cahoots .  

I did an inspection last week, and my inspector told me that he couldn't believe that someone was living in this unit because there were very few personal belonging.

A year after we owned it one of the building inspectors decided to enforce the 2017 IRC for all multi's in the area & dug out the archives. 

Many people don't like the inspectors/officials but they are good for free advice :)

Having a 3rd party inspector is well worth the money if you are out of town and need another set of eyes. 

Inspector goes out Monday, so we will see if condition has anything to do with that!

Just to reiterate get a good inspector. 

@Gary Freidman The only way you can make absolutely sure you are not paying too much for the home is going out and hiring an independent Home inspector and also getting a Home Appraisal.

Make sure that before your father-in-law puts a listing up, that he has housekeepers, maintenance people and inspectors set up.
