I would never be concerned about a referral fee because I would never for one instant consider paying it.This is not the 1980's, they are not tapped into some stream of information that the every day joe isn't.

In addition to reading all the great information here, start reaching out to people and making time to meet with the frequent posters here.  

I like BP forums, since it's a great place to get a big deal of wealth of information and find very good people helping each other.
