You have to be selective now that there are a lot of others in the market but it’s very doable to be successful. 

Has anyone had success with renting back from the owner while renovating a building with an agreement to purchase the property at a later date?

I had just come across a section 8 strategy video on youtube of a very well-known and successful investor who actually recommended not using multi-family properties as housing for targeting individuals with section 8 vouchers for various reasons...and now I'm afraid!!!

But if you're unable to figure it out from the vast online resources, haven't met people doing it through REIA and trade groups you probably lack what it takes to be successful at it.

I think that no matter what option you go with you will find success if you manage it properly.
