But it's really a personal preference thing... some people don't like mixing their primary residence with their investing in any way, and you need to make sure you're OK with the monthly payment on your primary in the event things don't go so well with your investment properties.

For example if your first purchase is a 10 unit apartment building the carrier you have that insured with might not want to insure your second purchase if it's a mixed used building with habitational risk above, but lets say a bar below.Best of luck with the property.
