At the moment I'm in the process of educating myself before I begin Investing which will be either by November or December 2015.I'm going out of town to Vegas for about a week to learn from my Uncle who owns his own construction company.

I own a property free and clear but am having difficulties being approved for a construction loan.  

I also have a construction background.

I just closed on a 2050SF brand new construction home .

The contractor that viewed the property with us, estimated the cost of the construction at $100,000 with a 65 day time frame.

I have been involved in the construction process of many flips over the years and finally decided I was on the wrong side of the fence. 

I have a construction background and have been to a few 3 day introductions on REI.Would like to get started and build income ASAP I don't know what I don't know, so here goes....If you're in the Greater Seattle area lets network.

I guess it depends on if you want warranties or not and want a full blown contractor to run everything for you, however I've found people by going out to new construction sites in developments and talking to the head flatwork guy on a job, or find a crew on a commercial job site etc.  

We'll do interim construction loans, bridge loans, SBA 504 2nds, and various other loan types in the central Texas area.  

It's been about 2 month process so far.Chad, Gene's advice sounds solid, anything you can do to familiarize yourself with construction components and terminology will give you a better shot at becoming an inspector.
