Hey @Hannah Walker, Based on your situation, my opinion is that you should wait for the market to correct before you buy here and/or invest out of state.

There are tens of thousands -probably hundreds of thousands - of corps that use the same registered agents here. 

I agree most people will want to see the project they might not see your vision in waiting another year.

No purchase contract has been signed and he is still waiting for his own house to close in another state in another week and use the proceeds for down payment.

: 3 properties in TX acquired before marriage, recent 1031 exchanges on 2 of these properties but kept them in my name in order to keep it simple and not upset the QI, my wife and I have setup a trust and retitled our primary residence but the TX properties are still in my name and not in any trust, all that I've found on the subject (outside of this thread) is to wait 2-3 years after the 1031 so that the TX properties are 'old and cold' and then retitle them into the trust.

Granted I deal with homes usually bank owned or very distressed, but my realtor would wait outside if I asked him to.

Don't wait to start out.

Even if the cash is the same as the Quiet title action, it benefits you to not have to wait for that action to take place.   

I often had distrust towards hospitals because I never knew what the amount I was going to need to pay would be after going to the hospital; and it always seemed to be hundreds or thousands of dollars more than expected.Thanks to the financial security that real estate can provide, I am in a different financial position now compared to where I was 4 years ago.
