Step 1: Immediately after the contractors say the job is complete hire a Cleaning service to do a deep clean on the property before any other eyes are on it.

Hire a real HVAC Contractor who will come out himself.

You need to inspect the property no matter whether you hire an inspector or have a boots-on-the-ground person do a walkthrough.
