I would encourage you to continue with all of that stuff (I try to make it a daily habit to at least read one blog, listen to one podcast, etc.).

There is always the chance that the notice could also encourage them to communicate better as well.  

It really makes a house you've owned for a long time a lot more affordable, but certainly encourages you to never sell.
