While it may seem that buying from auction is an easy win, unless you're a professional and can tolerate the risk associated with buying at auction, it's a bad idea.

You do win if you can take a point or two for the consultant. 

I've read plenty of posts on here alone with folks challenging appraisers and "winning", not just some "landing on the moon" type of scenario like you're making it out to be.
