I would like to know if a foreclosure and can be reversed if a short sale contract was submitted but the foreclosure went through anyway.

Fortunately, I did submit the appeal in time and have a court date coming up on November.

I don't know that the market is so bad that yours would be the highest offer submitted.  

Should we push our Realtor to submit an offer below list price anyway?

Submitting a counter offer or highest and best offer with an escalation clause is a great idea to help get your offer accepted and not overpaying.Hopefully $1000 will get the sellers attention, but you may have to reach higher than that. 

NSF for the purpose of this contract means a check that is not honored for any reason by the bank it is drawn on the first time it is submitted for payment.

If you have a real estate agent you're using, just ask them to submit the same offer again and update the dates.
