I am interested in potentially starting a benefit corporation but am unsure if it really makes sense to incorporate that way in this industry. 

I trusted him as he is physically involved in the market, even though he didn't seem to share my concerns.

No offense, but he has nothing to lose.I'm presumming he will be paid as well along the way...Even if you could get everything financed and incorporate the purchase and rehab, there will be issues.

My suggestion is that you focus on finding out what your end goal is in your final destination and based on that you create your strategy in your criteria and what you want to buy the other thing I would also recommend is start associating and meet like-minded individuals that you can connect with either physically in town or through digital meetups start understanding your area start understanding the different markets and start seeing if those markets will help you get to your end goal

@Justin Reed Wow, this is first I've heard (sorry newbie here) about incorporating assessor data into the mailing campaign and to make it more concrete to prospects.  

I wouldn't waste the mental energy on calling the person out unless it's negatively and physically impacting my wife and kids. 

I have kept up my contractors license but I haven't done any major work due to physical limitations for years.

My question is would it be worth it for my parents to incorporate their rentals and I invest with them or should I go off on my own?

Note that "townhouse" is a description of a physical appearance, not of a legal regime.
