It actually still does answer that question and the subject to question.

I also have the option of a purchase mortgage with a pledge of the down payment from investments but don’t have to actually put the money down, vs a conventional.

SO yeah, negates the impact of such fear so saying don't get income producing assets in case of unemployment is actually backwards.

My STR is actually in Vermont but that doesn't even exist on BP. lol.

You might even find that at some point you should actual sell that property and/or adjust your portfolio for your retirement.Hope that helps. 

I'd also say that the best way to confirm STR estimates is to actually look at comparables, look at pictures and analyze their prices/vacancies.

But it would still be nice to hear from a STR host that has actually done it, as opposed to someone like me and others who have opinions but haven't actually tried it.

Hey there @David Tang - I actually didn't ever hear of a program that was offering a 12 month stipend...someone I know did it back when it was 6 months and now my understanding was a 3-month stipend with a potential renewal for 3 months.We have wanted to use the Chicago program ASERAP (happy to share their contact info), but fall in line with others regarding employment...the most important thing is income to pay after they move-in because if you get into a sticky situation down the road the upfront rent won't matter.Definitely following this thread to see if anyone has placed migrants and understand what they did for income requirements.
