I am in the property management field as a leasing agent in Newark, Delaware.

Am I better off not deducting anything in this field?

With that being said I am on the hunt to find a mentor who can invest some knowledge and skills in exchange for  a FREE secretary, assistance, rehab assistance, handy-girl whatever needs to get done  at this point in your career you need help for FREE.  

The only problem is I just changed jobs recently from serving food to car sales(hallelujah for being out of the restaurant biz) but now I can't use the 203K loan I was planning on because of not being in the same job field for a certain period of time.

If you even have to ask this question you should surrender your license now and find a career where ethics really don't matter.

Lots of brokers spend there whole career doing exactly that.For instance if you had some multi-family to sell in my town, there are a handful of buyers and brokers you could talk to.

I'm a full time investor now but I had careers as a respiratory therapist from 1972 to 1988 and as a software engineer from 1988 to 2014.Noteworthy accomplishments (in order of importance):Married my wife Brenda in 1981, Completed 2006 Iditarod sled dog race, first ascent Gilhooley Tower in Olympic Mountains in 1972, quit smoking in 1985. 

I'm not sure if that helps your current situation, but I think there is a career there for you.
