You’d likely have to get involved in task force initiatives, block clubs, community groups, get police involvement etc.  

Fortunately, as a Florida Mortgage Broker, I'm not under FRIC, FRAC or FRECAlso, Mortgage Brokers don't go around filing ridiculous and petty complaints on each other at the drop of a dime.So unless there's something I don't know about,  Florida Mortgage Brokers are pretty much free to circumvent Realtors and go straight to the seller anytime we feel necessary.So often sellers are completely oblivious to the nonsense and unprofessional behavior of the listing agent they've chosen.Of course, I don't want to get the buyer's agent in trouble, so I think it's best I take the initiative and circumvent the listing agent and go straight to the seller to get the sales contract extension.

Look for a local club to join.

I don't know why you would assume that if you make a payment arrangement with the hospital, that they will nonetheless sell your debt and ding your credit.I've been fortunate enough not to run into it, but my understanding of how it works at our local hospital is that as long as you are current on a payment arrangement, they will not send your bill on to collections.

I'm fortunate to have  good mentors who are seasoned rehabbers and landlords so I have some good resources at my disposal.  

Being in Houston myself if I were you i would join many networking events and real estate clubs as you have time to, and as it is just as important to figure out what you want to do.
