Maybe not relevant advice based on your ideals but all I’m saying if feeling stuck and if buying a house is an option and your on a career path where you could do it again and again in your 20’s, then I would STRONGLY recommend it to you simply pull a trigger.

Hi @Alejandro B.My 4th unit is basically new construction -- it's a converted garage that became attached to the main structure during construction.I had to add fire alarms and sprinklers to the new construction 4th unit, but did not have to fully sprinkler the existing units because I did not touch them.A big renovation to convert an existing 3-family to a 4-family very well might trigger the need for a full building sprinkler system.
