So far, my outline is 5 years of paying of student debt, saving, learning, and buying another home (I own one and am currently renting a tiny place to save $).

It seems to me that the extra income and building of equity would be better use of my money than paying down the principle of my student debt.I have about $50k in student loans.

If so, every real estate "consultant," "coach," "guru" on the planet would be violating the law every time they help a paying student.

I was bummed to learn that none of my wife's student loan interest can be deducted apparently due to our AGI.
