Thanks, #1 and #2 - provided my feedback in earlier thread #2 _ it depends - I have duplex in NC RTP since 2007 and it has been smooth sailings for them since it all depends on the property management company you deal with #3 Also in $300K you won't get duplex in any good localities in NC and/or Texas unless one is forced to go to shady areas where you then deal with lot of tenant eviction and section-8.

I also have been looking at brick houses because I heard Insurance companies insure lower on brick homes and I really like how they look. 

Multiple, billion dollar companies are investing substantial amounts of money into our area, such as Intel, Google, and Amazon.

Now have a sizable property management company, and do deals with guys who were first my landlord at rental arbitrage spots.

Hey All,I work for an apartment remodeling company and am house hacking a duplex of my own.

Reedy and company is the property management company.

I run an STR management company in the Great Portland (Maine) area.

I hope this helps you find what people/companies you need as you put all the pieces together.

I have properties I have not visited in a long time  and have a property management company do the repairs.

I would like to know that as well, as the few property management companies that I have used have not been at all satisfactory.
