I wouldn't spend more than 1/2 hour of his time per property and if you plan to do it often compensate him.

They do offer a small compensation for a RE agent so the last deal I had them deal with it- good luck

If you go that route, I see nothing wrong with the compensation package being a combination of salary and profit split, but I would try to ensure that the total compensation is in the same range as if you were just paying a salary (in other words, don't do full salary PLUS profit split).

Once I was gone their activities would stop, or they would require more help than I was being fairly compensated for.

I can understand a nominal charge of between $100 and $250, but a half month's rent - depending on how they are compensating the person who negotiates the rental contract extension and how successful they are, may be just right or it may be high.

Don't be afraid to ask for monetary compensation if something was not followed as per the agreement!

If so  make sure your getting fairly compensated for this.
