You might ask your attorney about the tenants having the repairs made and making the costs under the workmen's liens provided by state law.Your attention and frustrations really need be aimed at the landlord, you might as well get in line with everyone else going after him.

Just a quick update on this first project...After several weeks of frustration dealing with the city, we finally have permits in-hand and we kicked off the project today (other than foundation work and replacing the windows, which we sneaked in over the past couple weeks).We have some demo pictures on our blog (see post above for link)...We're hoping to get this done in the next 8 weeks on about $100K budget...most of our contractors are lined up, and so far, they're all great (very surprising, actually).I'll post more as work progresses...
