Yes there is some margin rate interest built into the expense ratio so your dividends (if any) may suffer slightly but, these funds are usually on the order of hundreds of millions of dollars so they aren't paying the 5-8% margin rate that an individual investor would be.

This is how I got my first investors I sold them a home to  live in or a ranch they always wanted.. ( I mainly sold land in the early days)... when you have buyers that are buying 250 to 5 million dollar or more hobby ranch's those are the people you want to know and by being the broker I got to know them well and there ya go capable profitable successful folks and you  have a direct pipeline to them.
