Buying preconstruction condos was a good play for a few years in Toronto/GTA but as soon as the market turned people realized how risky that strategy is. 

As I see it now I have a couple options. 1- continue working at current job with high salary and build portfolio of rentals.

I have learned soo much here and continue to learn more.

We plan to continue educating ourself while overseas and practice analyzing deals from a distance.2) there is also all this talk about the market (stock/real estate) correcting late 2019/2020.

There is a good amount of inventory that still needs work so there are value add plays. 

My wife and I have decided to pay down some debt while real estate prices around us continue to skyrocket and good deals remain so few and far between in our area. 

A bit of advice,I would not start a conversation announcing yourself  as socialist - to those of us who've actually experienced the atrocity that is socialism, it doesn't play too well...Just a thought.Another thought - take a trip to Venezuela :) 

Maybe it's just a plateau or maybe not or maybe it continues to climb slowly and more reasonably.

It is in the Memphis area which has a decent vacancy factor and I might just continue with a one tenant space. 

Continuing my search for oil and gas direct investment, I found Crudefunders and this also appeared to have some negative sentiment, although the negative reviewers seem inexperienced and not the type of people who should be making these investments.
