I can generate a code that only works during a particular stay, and I don't have to meet to hand off keys, worry about the housekeeper remembering to change the lockbox code, etc.

They allow multiple codes, allowing you to have a master code, while your tenants have their custom code (this is also clutch for STRs).

Think if pictures for example had blockchain security so that they couldn't be appropriated by rogue websites.....or that properties could be assigned code so that title search and transfer was more secure (and significantly less costly.)
