@Joe SplitrockI have read thoroughly your detailed explanation, and while you indeed raised few valid points, I think that you have missed 2 major points which turn this BFF strategy into a powerful one.The first is that in this strategy you usually seller finance the property to the borrower in ~20-25%% higher price than what you might sell it in ordinary way.

If you feel similarly then I'd urge you to investigate that aspect thoroughly before choosing a bank, because it's a lot easier to do that than change banks later (which I've also done, because of monthly fees, but it's always a PITA).Hope this helps you.

I might note that some software options do offer applications that provide thorough tenant screening; these comprehensive background checks include the basic application information (job history, rental history, and requires that the applicant provides some supporting documentation, ie. valid form of government ID, most recent paystubs, and contact information for prior landlords etc) - but in addition to the basic information, it includes the information pulled from TransUnion (one of the three major credit bureaus).
