While I left my current job I currently am working odd jobs to make ends meet but I am aware it will only be temporary.  

You could probably fight it, and maybe win, but the amount of crap you'll end up dealing with to keep a measly $500 from some moron will likely cost you more than $500 worth of time and emotional dollars.

Personally I'd then focus on supplying temporary housing to Doctors if thats the price I was going for.

I know this may be hard but I think you are too emotionally attached to the property.

I will take your comments into consideration so that I do not make this decision based off of emotion and hate for a long commute everyday.

It was his house, it has emotional attachment to him. 

My family is extremely hard to deal with and cannot leave emotions out of business.
