If you were to venture into STR I would suggest starting with one to test the market and see if it is something you would like to continue to expand into. 

Like in PDX from start to first tenant is going to be 2.5 to 3.5 years a lot can happen in that time frame..

It is in the Historic NE which the farther East you go along the Independence Ave it starts to decline.
