I'm an investor w 2 properties in New York,  Hudson Valley, Orange county looking at moderate expansion and investments in single/multi family houses.

I'm currently in the military and looking to invest into a multi-family unit using my Thift Saving Plan as maybe a downpayment to get start.

I would focus on cutting personal expenses and trying to buy multi units.

Small multi-family properties in LA area are around $850k-$1.3mm in an area where I would feel safe to sleep at night and in a condition that would get FHA approved Scenario 2: we purchase a rental property in Fresno or out of state, with 25% down and aim for $100/month per unit cash flow.

This would probably look like a nice 6-8 multi-unit that my property management company could handle easily. 

I've been looking at Multi units online and I want to start since our multi aren't that expensive and I want to know if What's a quick way to see if a deal if a good one or just plain trash ???...

It was an old un-grounded system that was over a 100 years old.

What systems are they using ?

I'm always taking on projects and doing volume that stresses and often times breaks the current systems we have in place.

@Wiley D'Spain Get your real estate license (about 2 weeks), then get a job making as much money as possible, not in real estate (this will help you get approved for a multi-family home in the near future).
