I wouldn't get too far along in a plan until you know you can do it where you live.

Our latest purchase is a 4 bedroom house that we will live in for a year with a roommate and save up for the next house. we plan on putting it on airbnb. 

Timing of the sale of each might be an issue, it's a complicated strategy you will want to think through and plan for before you list either property. 

Now that I have graduated from the academy I plan to have my New Jersey real estate license in the next 3 months and invest in my first property within the year.
