I am reading Wendy Patton's book as well "lease options and subject-to deals" I would recommend to pick it up.

Two things that I did that worked in my area was....1) I went to the local HUD office and asked to look at the book that had the info for the section8 houses.

This reminds me a little of a challenge that Robert Allen (book writer ex neighbor of mine) accepted to go to a town with no money down and buy a property.
