All of the multiunits within our budget that is available near us currently have commercial store front on the first floor with apartments above.

And you can’t always count on new businesses or stores to come in unless pushed for by locals.

Give details such as schooling, stores, etc. 

Keep at it and dont be afraid to knock doors, go to the country to find multifamily owners, or post on social media and ask if anyone has one to sell.

In many areas there are used appliance stores that deliver for a reasonable fee. 

But You may want to post some stuff on social media and see if anyone responds.

My in-training PO showed me this website the moment we were talking about nice homes to look for when I first got posted here.In all this leads me to this tl;dr:- looking to find my first deal in Halifax, but can't decipher from the information I'm reading- since I have a lot of time on my hands, I am willing to learn but need someone to show me the ropes- I unfortunately don't have a lot of DIY skills, but am good with website building/graphics and social media- looking for local (if not, Canadian) REI groups.
