We had an average of 80% occupancy in Tulum that dropped 50% during summer, my properties in Tulum were still getting bookings but our rates did get lowered about a 15% - 20%, for a couple of months.

Read a few books about flipping, they spell out the details.

Present day: I have money saved up in Canada and have been reading books, found BP and listening to podcasts, reading forums.

I'm currently going through Pace Morby's book and video companion guide from the Bigger Pockets Store.

I'm part way through Craig Curelop's book, and starting to see what the market is like.It seems like a lot of the properties will have negative cash flow even after the first year when we move out.

We have an STR in Swannanoa that wasn't damaged and have had several week+ long bookings since the storm (including Army Corps of Engineers, etc). 

When I google that company, I don't really get a company website, but rather books, Facebook groups, etc.
