I'm familiar with the st. lucie area and looked there last year as it is only an hour north of me. 

3- timeframe, probably several months of living in a construction zone, not fun.4- there are other options for you to "house hack " and be profitable and retain the value of your house, without people stomping around above your head at all hours of the night.

Hello guys, Just a quick question, looking to see what more experienced opinions are on this...I'm doing all my research at the moment before stepping into real estate investing with a full time job (40-45 hours a week). 

The goal would be to buy this and live in it for three to four years and then sell, or rent it out preferably (using property management because we plan to move away from Arkansas).

My wife and I are moving to Virginia in three months and will start flipping houses when we get there.

You need at least two years of sales person experience (and accrue enough points) or three years of general RE experience to even apply to get the broker's license in NY.  

I am a stay-at-home mom of an almost three-year-old and almost one-year-old.

I would probably do a little work in the upstairs to make it into a three-bedroom home.

He would like me to Fix and Flip or Wholesale, I have experience with all three strategies but feel the most comfortable with Buy and Hold.  

It is a few hours north of me..but still close enough that I would probably self manage.
