I called the bank and ask about this, given that we chose the external option... the bank replied that the external insurance didn't cover exactly the same as the bank's insurance and therefore, they had to activate their insurance to meet with the banks requisites...Now the REALLY funny part:I called my broker and told him about the situation, we set down and compared the policies and there were EXACLY the same... with one detail extra from the external company: my wife condition demands a specialist (doctor) to make a verification of her health status prior to signing off the insurance... this is mandatory for all insurances, and the bank activated their insurance WITHOUT this verification...

The lender wanted us to have more ‘skin in the game’ since they had so much exposure.

Are there specialist lenders able to cater to those in my situation? 

I read the sections and plan on rereading them, but am curious about how to really take action and get some skin in the game. 

Most lenders will want to see that you have some skin in the game as well.

Only a [hopefully investor-friendly] accountant or entity specialist should answer this if you want a solid answer.

My relative's attorney is simply a family attorney and not a real estate specialist; same goes for the accountant.

It also provides me enough security in my mind that they have skin in the deal and want it back. 

A lot of people want to make money in Real Estate without having to put any skin in the game and from my experience that's just not feasible.
