Hello, I just purchaed my first home to rent rooms out as a frst step in real estate.

I always add that if people are truly factoring in all the ways real estate makes you money, then there are some markets that make perfect sense as an investment even if you pay retail.   

Is it worth it as a first-time investor?

I don't love the idea of essentially being locked into holding them for a long time because it may take many years for them to appreciate enough to meet that premium, but I do like the idea of cash flow, low interest, and longer terms.

I am doing a lot of reading and research here while working full time and while real estate investing seems like a daunting challenge I am looking forward to getting started.
