I likely wouldn't do what I'm doing if I wasn't able to get on a plane any minute and go straighten things out over there as needed. and I keep plenty of cash on hand to deal with the unexpected eviction, sewer backup, and blown furnace that I know I'll have to deal with some day.

However, I agree that sometimes it is better to have security in the cash flow, although that faster pay in 15 years, it could be better to choose the 30 years because it allows you to cover unexpected expenses or that additional money can help you to invest in other properties.
