I'm a new landlord so you should also get advice from a veteran, but in my mind the biggest issue here is actually that he lied to you about the time frame. 

However, I do agree that having a realtor make up lame excuses and lie about if an offer was received or state there is a bidding war when there is not just in to drive up prices is completely unethical.

You can do it yourself, which has become possible thanks to technology but there is work involved.

@Phillip WittI frequent the biggerpockets forum often and while there are many CPA's/Accountants who are helpful in answering tax questions from real estate investors - I don't think any are from the Indiana area.With that said - Technology now a days allows investors to connect with accounts across the United States.

That's the way he did it and he kept on doing it despite technology making things easier.

As it is a letter, and there is literally no way in hell I am giving that awful person 2800 dollars, I am thinking I will just ignore it, if they actually file suit I will just answer that, unless someone has a good idea otherwise.I think it would have to be small claims and they wouldn't be entitled to lawyers fees and this is just a big scary lawyer lie, but I am interested in what other more experienced people think.

I feel as though, judging from their actions, I am the only one in the building who feels that what we're doing seems utterly soul wrenching and this makes me think that the problem lies within myself, however again this may be flawed in that I am taking a poor sample of the population.
