Exhaust fans aren't required by code here, and honestly it would be really hard to put one in that was the required height above the range due to the sloping ceilings.So, in short, I would really like to put an electric stove up there and have the gas line capped off before the new tenant moves in.

However, if you haven't already done so,  I would talk to a real estate agent in your area that specializes in flips, and get them to run comps for the current house vs. the added square footage.

Now, if you are setting up a vacation home in Palm Springs or similar, I would assume the decor is going to need to stay quite current with popular trends, so buying antiques off of Facebook probably isn't going to work.
