I absolutely argee with @Kevin Siedlecki, real estate isn't a hobby.. it's a business and requires work... wine tasting is a hobby, that's just fun, also one of my favorite hobbies!

I'm a wholesaler here in South Florida and West Palm is one of my favorite territories especially for Multi Family deals with strong cap rates.  

If not it sounds like you gambling your investment may be better to stay in the stock market?

As @Omar Merced said, you might have some luck buying in an area that's in the path of progress but that's big gamble in my opinion.
