That should still net them an additional $1,500/month in income.As a son who wants to take the burden off of the parents so their retirement can be more enjoyable, consider helping them with handling the tenants by answering the phone calls and booking for repairs, etc...Personally, I don't like either options you proposed for a retired couple.

@Patti Robertson Its a long story why i was on the phone with dominion for like an hour lol but he did say he could not give me info about the bills as the account was not mine, but he would give me an "estimate".

I often find them from Fathers and Grandfathers of friends; what I often do is simply ask for their phone number so that I can speak with them directly.

In a combination of emails, phone calls, and an office visit, I took a three-pronged approach: 1) An appeal to do the right thing 2) A reminder that when I prevail in court, they will likely have to cover all court and attorney fees 3) the social media fallout could be costly.

Make sure you are accounting for both if the property is in NY.It would be with phoning the individual utilities just to confirm the numbers the owner is giving you. $1010 seems like a nice round per unit cost.
