I'm seeking your insights on purchasing an investment property (focusing on equity growth and self-sustainability) near Wake Tech - Southern Wake Campus and the McCullers area.

Any insight on this front?

It's better to work with a trusted, reliable, broker that does this day in and day out for a living than to go at it alone and take an unnecessary risk. 

I've told my wife I'd rather cut the losses at this point since now we have to refinance again, pay about $10k-$12k of closing costs, find a new general contractor who can work with us in a timely manner, and still the run the risk that anything can further go wrong.
